Self-Discovery Card Trick
Difficulity Level - Intermediate.
How the trick appears:
An audience member discovers his own chosen card in a magical way.
How the trick works:
1. Have an audience member shuffle a deck of cards. Tell them to take half the deck and give the rest to you.
2. Say "While I turn my back, pick out a card, look at it, show it to the audience, and put it back on top of your pile."
3. Turn away and secretly turn the bottom card and the second card from the top face up.
4. When the audience member is done choosing their card turn back. Tell them to hold out his cards then place your pile on top of his.
5. Take the cards, and tell the audience member to face the audience and place his arms behind his back. Then say, "Now I want to try an experiment with the cards behind your back."
6. Make sure that no one can see what happens behind the spectator's back and that he does not bring the cards forward.
7. Tell them to take the top card and move it to the bottom. Then instruct them to take the next card, turn it over, and stick it in the middle of the deck.
8. Have your participant bring the cards forward. Take the deck and go through the cards until you come to the face up card. Ask the spectator to name his card. Turn over the next card. "As you can see you located your card yourself."
Note: If the participant sticks the card between the face
up card and the chosen card, just say "You missed it by one," and
turn up the next card.
